Mike Mussina, RHP (10-5, 3.93)
Yankees (41-35)
Paul Maholm, LHP (5-5, 4.41)
Pirates (36-40)

Scouting Report:
Yankees: Mussina threw eight innings against the Reds on Friday, but it wasn't enough as he picked up his first loss in exactly one month. It marked the second time in three games the right-hander has gone eight innings. Mussina was economical with his pitches, avoiding deep counts. But he was tagged for four runs and gave up 10 hits on a night when the Yankees offense couldn't provide much run support. Despite the loss, manager Joe Girardi said Mussina gave a quality start and he couldn't have asked for anything more.

Pirates: Maholm was extremely efficient in his last outing against the Blue Jays. It took him only 99 pitches and seven innings to notch his fifth win of the year. Look for Maholm to continue this streak -- one in which he has claimed victory in his last three decisions. He is 4-1 at PNC Park this season, but has yet to face the Rays in his four-year career.
