According to ESPN.com and the Associated Press, GM Brian Cashman is excited that Andy Pettitte wants to return next season:
"It's great to hear," Cashman said Wednesday at the general managers' meetings. "Obviously, Andy is a guy you'd like to have back."
Pettitte confirmed that sentiment in an interview with KRIV, a Houston based TV Station.
If Pettitte were to resign with the Yankees, he'd most likely have to take a pay cut (earned $16 mil last season) and would most likely have to accept a one year deal.
