Andy Pettitte, LHP (8-5, 4.04)
Yankees (42-36)
Johan Santana, LHP (7-6, 2.93)
Mets (38-39)

Scouting Report:
Yankees: Pettitte threw six shutout innings on Sunday in leading the Yankees to a 4-1 victory over the Reds in New York, and likely could have gone longer if not for a 56-minute rain delay. Pettitte has allowed just one earned run in his last three games and none in 19 innings, his longest scoreless stretch since a career-best 23-inning streak in 1997. He's 7-4 with a 3.48 ERA in 17 career regular season starts against the Mets, though one of those losses came earlier this year.

Mets: Santana left a fastball up in the zone to Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez on Monday -- resulting in the first grand slam by a pitcher in Interleague Play -- but the Mets lefty survived through seven innings and allowed only one earned run in the 5-2 loss. Totaling 106 pitches (72 strikes), Santana said after that game that his fastball is coming off his hand better than at any other point this season, but it isn't showing in the win column, as he has now lost his last three decisions. Still, Santana is currently undefeated against the Yankees at 4-0 with a 2.98 ERA in 48 1/3 career innings.
