The Yanks head west, but not too far west, as they continue their portion of the Interleague Schedule. Up next for the Bombers are the Pittsburgh Pirates (36-40) who, after a strong start to the season, have begun to fall back in the NL Central pack.

The Bucs are fresh off a series win over the Toronto Blue Jays, taking two of three in Pittsburgh. In the series finale, Bucs ace Ian Snell irritated his elbow, and will undergo an MRI.

With the day off on Monday, Yankees skipper Joe Girardi decided to keep the rotation as is, allowing for his staff to enjoy an extra day off. Darrell Rasner will pitch Game 1 on Tuesday, Joba Chamberlain starts Wednesday, and Mike Mussina will toe the rubber in the final game of the series on Thursday.

Yankee fan favorite Joba Chamberlain will face left hander Zach Duke. Duke held a similar role with the Bucs a few years ago, when he was called up from Triple-A and shut down major league hitters. Duke is trying to regain his once dominant form, and showed flashes of brilliance in his last start against the Jays (7 inn, no runs, 4 k, 1 bb, 6 hits).

Wednesday's game will be covered live and in person by staff members of River Avenue News and 108 Red Stitches sports blog sites.
